Twenty-four square feet sounds abstract until you put a coffee table on it. In practice a 59-inch square takes the space between a two-seat sofa and the middle of a room, leaves a walkway at one edge, and stops where most people would stop pushing furniture back. That is why it outsells the larger sheet, and why more designs are made in it.

The mats on this page are the same object in different prints: four tenths of an inch of closed-cell XPE foam, both faces printed, a waterproof skin you wipe rather than wash, and creases that fold the whole thing to roughly the footprint of a small suitcase.
